Your dog’s timetable for preventative medicine

  • Monthly exams - well puppy exams should be performed monthly for the first four months.
    • These exams should include:
      • Fecal
      • Distemper
      • Hepatitis
      • Para influenza
      • Parvo vaccines
    • Rabies vaccination should be administered at four months of age.
    • Spaying or neutering should be done as soon as possible after four months.
 
  • Annual exams should be performed thereafter
    • These exams should include:
      • Fecal
      • Distemper
      • Hepatitis
      • Para influenza
      • Parvo vaccines
      • Heartworm blood test and preventative
      • Lyme vaccine for dogs exposed to ticks
      • Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine for dogs that are boarded or groomed at kennels or attending obedience training classes.
  • Rabies vaccine should be administered every two years after the dog matures.

 

Your cat’s timetable for preventative medicine

  • Monthly exams – well kitten exams should be performed monthly for the first four months.
    • These exams should include:
      • Fecal
      • Cat distemper vaccination
    • Rabies vaccination should be administered at four months of age
    • Spaying or neutering should be done as soon as possible after four months
  • Annual exams should be performed thereafter
    • These exams should include:
      • Cat distemper vaccination
      • Respiratory vaccination
      • Rabies vaccination
      • Leukemia vaccination for cats with high exposure
 

Your geriatric pet’s timetable for preventative medicine

  • Examinations to suit the older animal’s special needs
    • Vaccinations as indicated
    • Any necessary lab work
  • Consultations to maintain a high quality of life.
